Lake Tahoe Recreation
Both summer and winter recreation
opportunities abound in the spectacular beauty of Lake Tahoe. Winter recreation
includes cross country and downhill skiing at Diamond Peak ( 10 minutes away) or
Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe ( 25 minutes away) and more than 16
other world class ski and snowboard resorts. Tahoe has the highest concentration
of ski resorts in North America. Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley USA, Heavenly, and
Northstar-at-Tahoe are all within a 35 - 45 minute drive. Snowmobile through miles of
pristine forests or take a romantic sleigh ride over the snowy trails.
Summer
recreation includes numerous water sports including sailing, game fishing, water
skiing and
snorkeling in the crystal clear waters of this deep alpine lake. Or enjoy the
gorgeous lake views on one of the several cruise boats offered by local resorts
and marinas. More than 40 golf courses offer the ultimate golfing experience,
all within a one hours drive. Or mountain biking the 72 miles of scenic
coastline may be more your style. The Tahoe Rim Trail is a 150 mile long path
along the ridge of The Lake and offers hikers spectacular views from 10
trailheads. Whatever your recreation preference is, Lake
Tahoe has it all!
